ADULT CLASSES: FALL 2010

Here at Parkview Christian Church, we recognize that everyone is on a unique spiritual journey, and that for some, learning takes place best in a classroom setting.  To help you on that journey, we are offering a variety of classes this fall.  These classes are designed to build a strong Christian foundation and inspire spiritual growth, taking into account where you are currently at spiritually.

BABY DEDICATION CLASS

Saturday, September 11th from 4:00 to 5:45 PM in Room LL2

If you are interested in having your child dedicated at Parkview, we would like to invite you to our next baby dedication class!

At this class led by Pastor Casey Tygrett, we’ll outline what baby dedication means, and help you find ways to raise your child in a healthy and spiritually powerful way! You’ll also get a chance to take a tour of our Kidz Connection area!

WHAT WE BELIEVE CLASS

WHEN:     Tuesday, September 14th from 6:30 to 9:00 PM
WHERE:   Orland Campus Lower Level Conference Room
LEADER:  Pastor Tim Harlow

This class is offered to help you become familiar with the mission and core values of Parkview Christian Church, and is required for membership.  Some of the topics covered include theology, Christianity, church history, membership, communion, baptism, and church organization. 

RENOVATION OF THE HEART RETREAT

WHEN:  Friday, Sept. 24th (7 to 8:30 PM) & Saturday, Sept. 25th (8 AM to 2 PM)
WHERE: Orland Park Campus ~ Room LL5
LEADERS: Pastors Haydn Shaw and Casey Tygrett
COST:  $10.00 (includes materials and lunch on Saturday)

Led by Pastors Haydn Shaw and Casey Tygrett, the most frequent comments that we hear from people who’ve attended this two-day retreat are “Life-changing!” and “I finally get it!” Following this retreat experience, you will have a greater understanding of how to live every day like someone who is confident that God is with them, and to “...take hold of the life that is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:19

HOW TO MOVE FROM RELIGION TO RELATIONSHIP

Did you grow up in an environment where religious ritual was more important than a relationship with God? This two-part class will help you break down the barriers that may be preventing your moving from simply practicing “religion” into a “relationship” with the God who loves you completely.

This is also true of our relationship with God.  During this two-part class, you will learn about four different stages of spiritual life, problem areas that can stifle growth, and the key catalysts that can help you move forward in a healthy, growing relationship

with God.
